...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb: And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble. Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness: I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.-Isaiah 46:3-13***Isaiah was an Israelite and a prophet of the Lord God. Within the reign of King Uzziah (Azariah), the 9th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, and during the reign of Uzziah's son King Jotham, and Jotham's son King Ahaz, and Ahaz's son King Hezekiah, Isaiah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in Jerusalem and the rest of Judah. Over 675 years after Isaiah received revelations from the Lord God, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that in Jerusalem, at the temple of the Lord, righteous and devout Simeon received Jesus into his arms and blessed the Lord God and proclaimed that his eyes have seen the salvation that the Lord God has prepared before the face of all people.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Isaiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

'Tis Like

The Words of
Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.-Mark 4:30-34

People from Galilee in the north, Judea in the south, Samaria in the middle, the surrounding regions, and Syria, and from areas on the other side of the Jordan River, came to Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, when Jesus was preaching, teaching and performing miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. In Galilee, Jesus spoke of parables to his disciples.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it. And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.-Luke 13:18-22

The One and Only

And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended. And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses. And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, in all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, and in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.-Deuteronomy 34:1-12***Due to the incident at Meribah in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin, the Lord God did not allow Moses to cross the Jordan River and step onto the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and their descendants. However, the Lord God allowed Moses to see the land, and throughout the years before Moses died, Moses saw:

-a bush afire, yet not destroyed, and an angel of the Lord.

-Aaron, Moses' older brother, coming to Moses when Moses was in the region of Mount Horeb speaking with the Lord God.

-his Midianite wife Zipporah circumcise their son.

-the Israelites bow and worship the Lord God after Aaron spoke the words of the Lord God to them.

-the reactions of the Egyptians and the Israelites after Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.

-the Lord God bring 10 plagues upon Egypt and the Egyptians.

-the Israelites put the blood of a lamb or goat on the upper post and side posts of their homes on the day of the last plague, the plague of death.

-the Lord God going before the Israelites in a pillar of cloud during the day and in a pillar of fire during the night.

-the divinely parted Red Sea.

-manna, the bread from heaven that the Lord God rained down from heaven from the time the Israelites were in the desert wilderness of Sin until the 2nd day after the Israelites followed Joshua, Moses' successor, across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land and observed the Passover.

-Joshua and the Israelites defeat the Amalekites while Hur and Moses' older brother Aaron each held up 1 of Moses' hands.

-the semblance for the tabernacle and other sacred items that the Lord God commanded Moses to tell the Israelites to make.

-2 stone tablets whereupon were written, with the finger of God, the Testimony.

-the Israelites worshiping a golden calf that Aaron made.

-the glory of the Lord God.

The Lord God Himself

The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.-Nahum 1:1-7***Nahum was an Israelite and a prophet of the Lord God. Nahum received revelations from the Lord God regarding the idol worshiping inhabitants of Nineveh, the royal city of Assyria. Some of the words in the message the Lord God revealed to Nahum were similar to the words the Lord God proclaimed about himself after descending in the cloud upon Mount Sinai and speaking to Moses the prophet. Moses was an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Years before Nahum received a message from the Lord God about Ninevah, the Assyrians invaded the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land and conquered the royal city, Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 100 years after Samaria was conquered, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, and conquered the royal city, Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah 39:1-18, 52:1-34, Nahum, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Nope

And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Beth-el. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth-el. And the sons of the prophets that were at Beth-el came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho. And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on. And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground. And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.-2 Kings 2:1-11***Before Elijah the prophet was taken up into heaven by a whirlwind, Elijah:

-prayed that there would be no rain upon the land and told King Ahab of the expected drought.
-was nourished by food brought to him by ravens, according to the command of the Lord God.
-was fed by a widow in Zarephath (Sarepta), an idolatrous city in Sidon (Zidon), and the widow was subsequently supplied with a miraculous amount of flour and oil.
-prayed to the Lord God for the dead son of the Zarephath widow to be brought back to life.
-told King Ahab to summon the Israelites and the false prophets to Mount Carmel, and Elijah put forth a challenge to the Israelites and the false prophets.
-oversaw the deaths of the false prophets.
-announced to King Ahab the forthcoming rain.
-ran away from Ahab's wife Jezebel after Jezebel vowed to put Elijah to death.
-prayed to die, and was provided nourishment by an angel.
-spoke with the Lord God while upon Mount Horeb, the mountain of God.
-anointed Elisha as his successor, according to the command of the Lord God.
-proclaimed the words of the Lord God to Ahab regarding the deaths of Ahab and Jezebel.
-proclaimed the words of the Lord God to Ahab's son and successor King Ahaziah regarding Ahaziah's death.
-called for fire to come down from heaven to devour the army captains and troops sent to him from Ahaziah.

Anyone, Anyone

From a letter written by James
to dispersed Israelite believers:

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.-James 5:13-18***Elijah (Elias) was a prophet of the Lord God. King Ahab was the 7th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. Samaria was the royal city. During Ahab's reign, Elijah proclaimed the words of the Lord God. Sometime after Ahab was wounded and died, Elijah was taken up into heaven by a whirlwind.  The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Elijah prayed at least 2 prayers that involved the weather and affected the land. Over 800 years after Ahab's son Ahaziah became the 8th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the Israelite tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings 1:1-2:25, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-18:34, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, James

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,-1 Kings 18:41-42(

The Lord God Himself

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice there, is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.-Jeremiah 10:12-13

Jeremiah the prophet began proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land,  during the reign of King Josiah, the 15th king to rule Judah. Moreover, Jeremiah proclaimed the words of the Lord God during the reigns of Josiah's sons and grandson, The Lord God gave Jeremiah  messages regarding Judah's idolatry and other evil behavior, and Jeremiah received revelations of the Lord God. Josiah's son King Jehoahaz was the 16th king to rule Judah. Josiah's son King Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, the royal city, and began looting the temple of the Lord. King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, was Jehoiakim's son and Josiah's grandson. During Jehoiachin's reign, the Babylonians began taking Israelites to Babylon. During the reign of Josiah's son King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. The Lord God Himself

From the words spoken by Elihu while in
the presence of Job and Job's three friends:

Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly. Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle? Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea. For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance. With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour. At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place. Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth. He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard. God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.-Job 36:26-37:7

Them, too

The Words of
Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.-Matthew 5:43-48***The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Noah the ark builder and Job in Uz were perfect, being complete and sound in their desire towards the Lord God. Noah was a cultivator of soil and a preacher. Job was wealthy and suffered through a series of calamities. Noah and Job descended from Adam and Eve. The Lord God created Adam, the first man. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground. The Lord God made Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. Adam and Eve's son Seth was the great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Noah. Noah's son Shem was the great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Terah. Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were Terah's children. When Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, their only child Isaac was born. When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Abraham and Sarah's great-niece Rebekah. When Isaac was 60 years old, Isaac and Rebekah's only children, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born. Decades thereafter, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin were the 12 sons born to Jacob, his wives, and maidservants Bilhah and Zilpah. Dinah was the daughter born to Jacob and Leah. Over 1,900 years after Judah and his siblings were born, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Between Me and You and Them

The Lord God

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee: Every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.-Genesis 17:1-14

Beauty Marks

From a letter written by Peter (Simon)
to believers dispersed throughout Asia Minor (Turkey):

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of their wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.-1 Peter 3:1-6***Sarah (Sarai) was the wife and half sister of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew). The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Sarah was beautiful, even during her elderly years, and died 127 years after she was born. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham and Sarah. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were the only children born to Isaac and his wife Rebekah. Decades after Jacob was born, he married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and Leah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and Jesus went to Galilee. Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by many people, and returned to heaven. Simon Peter became a leader among the disciples and apostles and others who believed Jesus to be the Christ. Moreover, Simon Peter wrote at least 2 divinely inspired letters to believers.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-15:41, Galatians 1:1-2:21, 1 Peter, 2 Peter

Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?-Genesis 18:11-12
