to believers dispersed throughout Asia Minor (Turkey):

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of their wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.-1 Peter 3:1-6***Sarah (Sarai) was the wife and half sister of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew). The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Sarah was beautiful, even during her elderly years, and died 127 years after she was born. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham and Sarah. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were the only children born to Isaac and his wife Rebekah. Decades after Jacob was born, he married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and Leah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and Jesus went to Galilee. Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by many people, and returned to heaven. Simon Peter became a leader among the disciples and apostles and others who believed Jesus to be the Christ.
