From a letter written by James

to dispersed Israelite believers:

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.-James 5:13-18***Elijah (Elias) was a prophet of the Lord God. King Ahab was the 7th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. Samaria was the royal city. During Ahab's reign, Elijah proclaimed the words of the Lord God. Sometime after Ahab was wounded and died, Elijah was taken up into heaven by a whirlwind.  The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Elijah prayed at least 2 prayers that involved the weather and affected the land. Over 800 years after Ahab's son Ahaziah became the 8th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
