Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. They're Going to Get It

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil. In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.-Micah 2:1-5***The divinely inspired  Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that some people boast in evil. Their tongues work deceitfully, devising calamities. They love evil more than good and lying instead of speaking righteousness. Wicked people devise mischief while in bed, position themselves on a path that is not good and do not reject evil. Violent men entice their neighbors, lead them onto a path that is not good, firmly close their eyes while devising perversity, and position their lips to accomplish evil. People who devise evil err, yet kindness and truth are to those who devise good. When people who are blessed are sick in bed, the Lord God will strengthen and sustain them. King Jotham and Micah were Israelites, descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Micah was a prophet of the Lord God. Jotham was the 10th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Jotham's son Ahaz was the 11th king to rule Judah, and Ahaz's son Hezekiah was the 12th king to rule Judah. During their reigns, Micah proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Over 600 years after Manasseh, the son born to Hezekiah and Hephzibah, became the 13th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 1:1-5:32, 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Psalm 36, Psalm 41, Psalm 52, Proverbs 14, Proverbs 16, Micah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts

Wise and Wisdom, Foolish and Fool

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.-Luke 12:13-21***Less than 1,400 years after Joshua, and Eleazar the priest and the appointed tribal leaders began dividing the Promised Landallotting each tribe, except for the tribe of Levi, their inheritance, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach, and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, 32:1-36:13, Deuteronomy, Joshua, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4

From This to This

FROM THIS:

And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying, Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them. And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts. And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about. And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities. And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities. So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs. And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites  according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.-Numbers 35:1-8

TO THIS:

Then came near the heads of the  fathers of the Levites unto Eleazer the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel; And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle. And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs. And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities. And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities. And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities. The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities. And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses. And they  gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name, Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi,  had: for their's was the first lot. And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it. But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession. Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs, And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs, And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs, And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes. And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs, Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities. All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs. And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim. For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs, And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Beth-horon with her suburbs; four cities. And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs, Aijalon with her suburbs, Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; four cities. And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; two cities. All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained. And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beesh-terah with her suburbs; two cities. And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs, Jarmuth with her suburbs, En-gannim with her suburbs; four cities. And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs, Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities. And out of the tribe of Naphtali., Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammoth-dor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cites. All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs. And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs. Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities. And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs, Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities. And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs, Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all. So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities. All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs. These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities. And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.-Joshua 21:1-45/the complete chapter

None at All

And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.  And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die. But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance. But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.-Numbers 18:20-24***Aaron and his parents Amram and Jochebed and his siblings Miriam and Moses were Israelites from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, 80-year-old Moses and 83-year-old Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron and Aaron's sons and the sons of their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. When the Israelites were still camped in the desert wilderness of Sinai, the Lord God told Moses not to include the tribe of Levi in the census taken of Israelite males 20 years old and older, and the Lord God explained to Moses the significance and relationship of the Levites to the Lord God. Sometime thereafter, the Lord God told Moses to take a specific census of every male 1 month old and older and males 30 years old and older in the tribe of Levi. The Lord God also gave Moses commands regarding the responsibilities at the transportable tabernacle for each clan of the tribe of Levi, the Gershonites, Kohathites and Merarites, from Levi's sons Gershon, Kohath and Merari. In the desert wilderness of Paran, the Lord God spoke to Moses regarding the land that the Levites were not to receive. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. Shortly thereafter, in an area across from Jericho, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the cities and pasturelands that the other Israelite tribes were to give the Levites. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in this tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Judges, Justice and Judgment

Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment. Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous. That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee. Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.-Deuteronomy 16:18-22***Miriam was the older sister of Aaron and Moses, the Israelites from the tribe of Levi who led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. Before Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried, Moses spoke to the Israelites about their history, and ancestors Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), Isaac and Jacob (Israel), and covenant with the Lord God, and possible blessings and cursesMoses spoke to Joshua, his successorand Moses spoke to the priests and elders. After the Lord God spoke to Moses, Moses wrote down a song and the book of the law. Moses gave the book of the law to the Levites, and Moses, with Joshua, taught the song to the Israelites, and Moses blessed the Israelites. Joshua and the other Israelites in the tribe of Ephraim descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim. The Israelites in the tribe of Manasseh descended from Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Manasseh. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that in Egypt Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim to be his own sons. The Israelites in the tribe of Benjamin descended from Jacob and Rachel's 2nd born son Benjamin. The Israelites in the tribe of Levi, the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Simeon, the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Issachar, and the tribe of Zebulun descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah. The Israelites in the tribe of Dan and the tribe of Naphtali descended from Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. The Israelites in the tribe of Gad and the tribe of  Asher descended from Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Although the Israelites lived throughout the desert wilderness during the 40 years that Moses and Aaron were leading them to the Promised Land, every Israelite knew the identity of their own familial tribe. Sometime after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants, Joshua, and Aaron's son and successor Eleazar, and the appointed tribal leaders allotted each tribe their portion of the Promised Land. Thus, every Israelite lived within their own tribe's territory. However, according to a request, the tribe of Reuben, and the tribe of Gad and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh were given land and made their homes on some of the same land that the Israelites had wandered through during their 40-year journey. The tribe of Levi, the only tribe of priests and their assistants, did not receive a land allotment. Instead, according to the command of the Lord God, the Levites were given cities and pasturelands from the other tribes. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, 1 Chronicles 1:1-8:40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Yet and Still

And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem. And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD. Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God. And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers. And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city, And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem. And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass. And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.-2 Chronicles 19:1-11/the complete chapter***King David was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David only worshiped the Lord God. Solomon worshiped the Lord God until years after he was married to 700 idol worshiping princesses from foreign kingdoms and became an idolater. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south,  Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria  was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Murderers and idolaters always ruled the northern nation of Israel. In Judah, David's descendants successively ruled, except for the 6-year reign of idol worshiper Athaliah, the daughter of King Ahab, the 7th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During the initial 3 years of Rehoboam's reign, Rehoboam adhered to the teachings of the priests and Levites who lived in Judah and those who left the northern nation and moved to Judah. From the 4th year onward, Rehoboam worshiped idols. Rehoboam's son Abijam (Abijah), the 2nd king to rule Judah, worshiped idols. Abijam's son Asa, the 3rd king to rule Judah, only worshiped the Lord God. Jehoshaphat, the son born to Asa and Azubah, was the 4th king to rule Judah, and only worshiped the Lord God. Jehoshaphat visited Ahab and agreed to Ahab's suggestion and plans to fight the Syrians (Arameans), even after hearing the words of the Lord God that were spoken by Micaiah the prophet. Ahab died the same evening that he was struck by a bow. Meanwhile, the Lord God saved Jehoshaphat from being harmed and Jehoshaphat returned to Jerusalem and received a visit and message from Jehu, a prophet of the Lord God. Jehoshaphat's son Joram (Jehoram), the 5th king to rule Judah, worshiped idols and was married to Athaliah.  Over 800 years after Ahaziah, the son born to Joram and Athaliah, became the 6th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the  tribe of David and his descendants, all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jesus taught of judgment and the judgment.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-3:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Each and Every One

And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him. And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child. And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him. And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not. And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither. And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.-Luke 9:37-45***Simon Peter, James and John were disciples and apostles of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. After Simon Peter, James and John were upon a mountain with Jesus and saw Jesus transfigured and speaking with Moses and Elijah, prophets who had lived centuries earlier, and after Simon Peter, James and John heard the voice of the Lord God speaking to them, Jesus taught Simon Peter, James, John and the other disciples revelations regarding unbelief, faith, belief, prayer, and fasting. Shortly thereafter, Jesus spoke to the disciples regarding the upcoming betrayal, arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection that would occur.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Think Anew

From a letter written by the apostle Paul (Saul)
to believers in Rome, years after
was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb,
resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven:

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.-Romans 12:1-8

Reference Information:
exhort = parakalon/parakaleo = encourage, comfort, console, advocate, call to or for

members = mele/melos = limb or organ of the body, part of the body

ministry = diakonia/diakonian/diakonos = service, willingly serve

office = praxin/praxis = prasso = function, deed

prophecy = propheteian/propheteia/propheteuo = reveal truth beforehand, clarification beforehand

rule = proistamenos/proistemi = lead, preside, oversee

simplicity = haploteti/haplotes/haplous = sincerity, generosity

Reference Scriptures:
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been al made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.-1 Corinthians 12:12-14
