The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of the Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and I will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.-Jeremiah 30:1-9
Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished. For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines. All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased. Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee. Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey. For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD, because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.-Jeremiah 30:10-17***Before Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) moved away from Ur in southern Mesopotamia with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot, and lived in Haran in northern Mesopotamia, Canaan was a land inhabited by idolaters. Before Abraham, Sarah and Lot journeyed from Haran to Canaan, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. When Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that Abraham's descendants would be afflicted in a foreign land before they began living in Canaan. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and gave new names to Abraham and Sarah, and reassured that a son would be born to Abraham and Sarah, and told Abraham to name the son Isaac, and told Abraham about the blessings for Ishmael. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Before Abraham sent his top servant to find a wife for 40-year-old Isaac, Abraham told the servant that the Lord God would send his angel before the servant. After the servant arrived near Abraham's family in northern Mesopotamia, and before the servant saw Rebekah, the servant prayed to the Lord God. Before fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Rebekah and 60-year-old Isaac, Rebekah asked the Lord God about the actions of the babies, and the Lord God told Rebekah that the babies were 2 nations, and the oldest would serve the youngest. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. In Canaan, Joseph told his brothers 2 dreams. When Joseph was 30 years old, he became second-in-command in Egypt. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, according to Joseph's request and the generosity and hospitality of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. Shortly thereafter, Moses spoke to the Israelites about the laws for the king they would set over them and the events that would occur to the king and the Israelites. The Lord God told Moses that the Israelites would worship idols, and Moses told the Israelites that he knew they would rebel against the Lord God. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 250 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was born into the tribe of Levi. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, to reign as king. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. When David was 37 1/2 years old, he became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Before Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites, the Lord God told Solomon that he was going to tear the kingdom away from Solomon's son, give the kingdom to Solomon's servant, and leave Solomon's son with 1 tribe. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Solomon's top supervisory servant Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. King Hoshea was the 19th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Throughout the years before the Assyrians conquered Samaria during the 9th year of Hoshea's reign, the Lord God sent prophets to proclaim messages and warnings to the Israelites. Less than 140 years after Samaria was conquered, Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Zedekiah (Mattaniah) became the 19th king to rule. Throughout the years before the Babylonians (Chaldeans) conquered Jerusalem during the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Lord God sent Jeremiah and other prophets to proclaim messages and warnings to the Israelites. Jeremiah was struck, and put in stocks, and put in the court of the prison, and lowered into a pit, and released by the Babylonians. A group of Israelite survivors took Jeremiah with them to Egypt. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Before Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 3 1/2 years after he was baptized, Jesus spoke to his disciples and others about his return that will occur at the end of the age.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
