And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cites of the country round about. And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer, and Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah, and Bethnimrah, and Beth-haran, fenced cities: and folds for sheep.-Numbers 32:33-36
Jacob (Israel) was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel. Manasseh and Ephraim were born to Joseph and his wife Asenath. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim to be his own sons. The tribes of Israel are the family groups descended from each son. The Lord God promised to give Canaan, land inhabited by idolaters, to Jacob, and Isaac, and to Isaac's father Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to their descendants. Joshua was from the tribe of Ephraim. Before Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, the tribes of Reuben and Gad asked Moses, and Eleazar the priest and the other selected leaders for permission to make their homes on the same side of the Jordan River that the Israelites had wandered through for 40 years. After the men from the tribes of Reuben and Gad agreed to cross the Jordan River and help their fellow Israelites subdue and inherit the Promised Land, Moses agreed to the request made by the Reubenites and Gadites. Moreover, 1/2 of the tribe of Manasseh made their homes on the same side of the Jordan River as the tribes of Reuben and Gad. Shortly after agreeing to the request, Moses gave land distribution instructions to Joshua, and Eleazar, and the leaders in each tribe, and Moses assigned the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh their land allotment. A portion of Gad's land included Mahanaim, the place wherein Jacob encountered the angels of the Lord God over 400 years earlier. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-21:35, 27:12-23, 32:1-35:34, Deuteronomy 1:1-3:29, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 13:1-33, 21:1-45, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-80, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
