And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and pitched beside Ebenezer: and the Philistines pitched in Aphek. And the Philistines put themselves in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before the Philistines: and they slew of the army in the field about four thousand men. And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies. So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God. And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again. And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the LORD was come into the camp. And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore. Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness. The Philistines worshiped idols. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. In Canaan, in an area near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. When Joseph was 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast, and Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved to Egypt with his family. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the tabernacle, and the other sacred items that the Israelites were to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. Before the Israelites journeyed away from Sinai, the Lord God gave Moses commands for the Levites, the other Israelites in the tribe of Levi, and the Lord God told Moses that only the Kohathites, the descendants of Aaron's son Kohath, were to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord by the gold covered poles. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim. The priests stood still in the middle of the divinely parted Jordan River, carrying the ark of the covenant, as Joshua led the Israelites onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items were placed in Shiloh. Over 250 years after 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Samuel the priest and prophet was the judge from the tribe of Levi was leading the Israelites, and the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant and the other sacred items were in Shiloh. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. Over 1,000 years after the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Judah, to reign as king, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died, When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Ahab was the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. King Benhadad, ruler of Syria (Aram), surrounded Samaria with his army and demanded silver, gold and people, and Ahab was willing to comply. However, when Benhadad informed Ahab that he was going to send men to pillage Samaria, Ahab listened to the advice of the Israelite elders and sent a message of refusal to Benhadad. As Benhadad prepared to attack Samaria, a prophet of the Lord God told Ahab, an idolater, that the Lord God was going to give Ahab the victory. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Israelites defeated the Syrians. Benhadad escaped, and his men advised him to fight the Israelites on the plains. The following spring, the Israelites were victorious again, fulfilling the words of the Lord God that a prophet proclaimed. Benhadad escaped and listened to even more advice. Over 800 years after Jehoram (Joram), the son born to Ahab and Jezebel, became the 9th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. After Ahab agreed to the demands, Ben-hadad said he was going to send men to plunder the palace and homes in Samaria. The Israelites told Ahab not to concede to Ben-Hadad, and both sides prepared to fight. Ben-hadad assembled his army and the armies of the 32 kings with him. Meanwhile, Ahab prepared his 232 officers and 7,000 troops. The Lord God sent a prophet to tell Ahab the manner and reason the enemies would be handed to him. Thus, the Syrians and their allies were defeated. A prophet of the Lord God told Ahab that he would have to fight the Syrians the following spring, and Ben-hadad's men advised Ben-hadad to fight the Israelites on level land. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's 20-year reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites captive. During the 9th year of the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 100 years after Samaria was conquered, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, and conquered the royal city, Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Jeremiah the prophet and Ebed-melech

      

Now when Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuch's which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin; Ebed-melech went forth out of the king's house, and spake to the king, saying, My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city. Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die. So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so. So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.-Jeremiah 38:7-13***King Josiah was the 15th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. Jeremiah was a prophet of the Lord God. During the 13th year of Josiah's 31-year reign, Jeremiah began proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites in Judah and Jerusalem, the royal city. After Josiah died from wounds received in a battle against Pharaoh Neco, king of Egypt, Jeremiah mourned Josiah's death and tried to turn the Israelites in Judah back to the Lord God. The Israelites anointed Jehoahaz, the son born to Josiah and Hamutal, and Jehoahaz became the 16th king to rule Judah. During Jehoahaz's 3-month reign, Neco took Jehoahaz away, and established Eliakim, the son born to Josiah and Zebudah, as king and renamed him Jehoiakim.  During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin  (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. Jehoiachin ruled for 3 months and was taken captive with other Israelites to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar left the poorest Israelites in Judah, and placed Josiah and Hamutal's son Mattaniah as king and renamed him Zedekiah. Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, Zedekiah, and many of their fellow Israelites refused to repent and refused to listen to Jeremiah. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that 4 men who heard Jeremiah proclaim the words of the Lord God spoke to Zedekiah and used ropes to put Jeremiah in a muddy, waterless cistern. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites.
