Joshua and his fellow Israelites place
the tabernacle, the tent of meeting,
in Shiloh in the Promised Land:
And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them. And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you? Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me. And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north. Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the LORD your God. But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them. And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in Shiloh. And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh. And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.-Joshua 18:1-10***Philistines and other idol worshipers were living throughout Canaan when the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. When Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that Abraham's descendants would be afflicted in a foreign land before they would leave with great possessions. Over 375 years after Levi was born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, they led the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor. Sometime thereafter, the Lord God gave Moses commands for dividing the Promised Land. The amount of land given to each tribe was to be determined by the size of the tribe. The location of each tribe's land portion was to be determined by the casting of lots. Reuben was the 1st son born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah. Gad was the 1st son born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel. Manasseh was the 1st son born to Joseph and his wife Asenath. However, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and his younger brother Ephraim to be his own sons. However, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and his brother Ephraim to be his own sons. The Israelites in the tribes of Reuben and Gad asked for and received permission to make their permanent homes on the same side of the Jordan River that the Israelites had wandered through for 40 years. Moses described all the terms necessary for the request to be granted. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that half of the tribe of Manasseh became included in the request. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim. After Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land. After a series of battles, Joshua and the leaders with him began allotting land to each tribe. The ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the tabernacle that the Israelites made according to the commands that the Lord God gave Moses when Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, were placed and positioned in Shiloh. Approximately 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Philistines were defeating the Israelites. After the Israelites took the ark of the covenant out of the tabernacle in Shiloh and brought the ark to the battlefield, the ark was captured by the Philistines, and returned by the Philistines. Over 900 years after King Solomon, the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem and the ark of the covenant was put in the Most Holy Place in the temple, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
