...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Different Than Was in Your Plans

Joseph and his brothers

Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren. And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard. And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence. And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be eating nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt
.
-Genesis 45:1-8***Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Benjamin was Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son. Before Joseph and Benjamin were born, Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah, and Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah. Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild animal. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God was with Joseph, and Joseph became the top servant in Potiphar's home. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, 30-year-old Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph second-in-command. Moreover, Pharaoh appointed Joseph leader over all food distribution, and gave Joseph another name, and arranged the marriage between Joseph and Asenath, daughter of an Egyptian priest. The 1st time Joseph's brothers came from Canaan to Egypt during a famine to buy grain (corn), Joseph accused his brothers of being spies, and put Simeon in prison until they brought Benjamin to Egypt to verify the story they told. When Joseph's brothers were returning to Jacob in Canaan, Joseph's brothers discovered that the silver they had used to purchase grain was still in their sacks. Despite Jacob's fear of losing another son, and since the grain previously acquired in Egypt was gone, Jacob sent his sons, including Benjamin, to Egypt with goods from Canaan and twice the amount of silver. Joseph treated his brothers to a meal in his home, and his brothers' silver was secretly put back in their sacks, and Joseph's silver cup was placed in Benjamin's bag. The next day, when Joseph's brothers were heading home, they were brought back to Joseph's house. Judah pleaded with Joseph, and Joseph identified himself and spoke of the Lord God, and told his brothers to move to Egypt with their families, including Jacob.
During the journey, the Lord God spoke to 130-year-old Jacob. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and Asenath, to be his own sons. Over 1,800 years after 130-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis  11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Psalm 105, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 6:1-8:4
