...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

From There and There

But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known. And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: and Simon he surnamed Peter; and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.-Mark 3:7-19***Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, had many disciples who walked with him throughout the southern province of Judea, and the northern province of Galilee, and the surrounding regions. Approximately 30 years before the disciples began following Jesus, Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. From the many disciples, Jesus chose 12 and named them apostles and sent the 12 disciples and apostles on a mission without him. Sometime thereafter, Jesus sent at least 70 others on a similar mission. The names of the men in the group of at least 70 are not revealed in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible. However, the names of the men in the group of 12 are revealed in Matthew 10:2-4, Mark 3:16-19 and Luke 6:14-16. The names of 11 of the 12 are revealed in Acts 1:13 in the Holy Bible. The 12 disciples and apostles were: Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas (Didymus), Matthew (Levi), James (Alphaeus' son), Lebbaeus (Judas?) Thaddaeus, Simon the Cananaean the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot. Less than 3 1/2 years after the disciples began following Jesus, Judas Iscariot  betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Judas Iscariot killed himself.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
