They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto them, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they saikld, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?-John 6:28-42***Months after John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born into the tribe of Judah. John the Baptist was conceived after the physical intimacy between his elderly parents Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. From the beginning, before Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb, Jesus was with his Father the Lord God in heaven. Over 1,500 years before John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi to Amram and Jochebed. Three months after Moses was born, Jochebed placed Moses in a specially prepared ark and set the ark among the vegetation near the river, to keep Moses from being killed. The daughter of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, told her maidservant to retrieve the ark. Afterwards, Miriam arranged for Jochebed to be hired to nurse Moses. Sometime after Moses was weaned, Jochebed took Moses to Pharaoh's daughter, and Pharaoh's daughter named Moses and raised Moses as her son. When Moses was 40 years old, he killed an Egyptian. Amid an incident between 2 Israelites, the murder was mentioned to Moses, and Moses hurriedly left Egypt and began living in Midian. Forty years after arriving in Midian, the Lord God spoke to Moses and sent 80-year-old Moses and 83-year-old Aaron to speak to Pharaoh and to the Israelite elders. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sin, the Israelites began eating manna. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. On the 2nd day after the Israelites observed their 1st Passover in the Promised Land, no more manna rained down from heaven for the Israelites to eat. Over 400 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Rehoboam, the son born to King Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city, and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Less than 225 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Zedekiah (Mattaniah) was the 19th king to rule Judah. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born. Approximately 30 years after they were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God.
