Sum Totals

Now these were the sons of David, which were born unto him in Hebron; the firstborn Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess: the third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith: the fifth, Shephatiah of Abital: the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife. These six were born unto him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years. And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bath-shua the daughter of Ammiel: Ibhar also, and Elishama, and Eliphelet, and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine. These were all the sons of David, beside the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister. And Solomon's son was Rehoboam, Abia his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son, Joram his son, Ahaziah his son, Joash his son, Amaziah his son, Azariah, his son, Jotham his son, Ahaz his son, Hezekiah his son, Manasseh his son, Amon his son, Josiah his son. And the sons of Josiah were, the firstborn Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, the fourth Shallum. And the sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, Zedekiah his son. And the sons of Jeconiah; Assir, Salathiel his son, Malchiram also, and Pedaiah, and Shenazar, Jecamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah. And the sons of Pedaiah were, Zerubbabel, and Shimei: and the sons of Zerubbabel; Meshullam, and Hananiah, and Shelomith their sister: And Hashubah, and Ohel, and Berechiah, and Hasadiah, Jushabhesed, five.-1 Chronicles 3:1-20***Samuel the priest, prophet and judge anointed Saul to reign as king over the Israelites in the Promised Land, according to the command of the Lord God. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to Bethlehem to anoint David to reign as king. Sometime thereafter, David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. After David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine, David remained with Saul full-time. David and Jonathan, Saul's son, made a covenant. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul wanted to kill David, and sent David on missions to get killed, and told others, including Jonathan, to kill David. Saul's daughter Michal married David and helped David escape from their home. Sometime thereafter, Saul gave Michal in marriage to Phalti (Palti/Paltiel). Meanwhile, David married Abigail and Ahinoam. Abigail was a widow. Her husband Nabal died days after Abigail told Nabal that she had provided David and David's men with an abundance of food. After Jonathan and his brothers Abinadab and Malchihua were killed by the Philistines, and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, David, Abigail, Ahinoam, and those loyal to David began living in Hebron. Men from the tribe of Judah, David's birth tribe, anointed David, and 30-year-old David began to to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed David, and 37-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. David founded and began reigning from the City of David. Jerusalem was steadily developed. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that David fought battles on the field and in his family. Amnon, the son born to David and Ahinoam, raped Tamar, the daughter born to David and Maacah. Amnon was eventually killed on orders given by Absalom, David and Maacah's son. Absalom had himself proclaimed king while David still reigned. Despite David's command, Absalom was killed by Joab and Joab's men. Joab was the nephew of David and cousin of Absalom. when David was elderly and still reigning, Adonijah, the son born to David and Haggith, positioned  himself as king. Adonijah was killed after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba (Bath-shua), became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. The 1st son born to David and Bathsheba was struck by the Lord God and died, due to David's actions against Bathsheba's husband Uriah. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Rehoboam, Abijah, (Abia/Abijam), Asa, Jehoshaphat, Jehoram (Joram), Ahaziah, Joash (Jehoash), Amaziah, Uzziah (Azariah), Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, Manasseh, Amon, Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim (Eliakim), Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), and Zedekiah  (Mattaniah) reigned in Jerusalem over the southern nation of Judah. Jeroboam, Nadab, Baasha, Elah, Zimri, Omri, Ahab, Ahaziah, Joram (Jehoram), Jehu, Jehoahaz, Jehoash (Joash,), Jeroboam, Zachariah, Shallum, Menahem, Pekahiah, Pekah, and Hoshea ruled the northern nation of Israel. Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. Hoshea was the 19th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During the 9th year of Hoshea's reign, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, the royal city, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Jehoiakim was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiachin, the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin and his mother Nehushta, to Babylon. During the reign of Zedekiah, the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered  Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob (Israel) and Leah. Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah. Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad. Arphaxad was born to Shem. Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch. Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth. Seth was born to Adam, the 1st man, and Eve, the mother of all living. The Lord God created Adam.
