Drinking, Drank and Drunk

And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king. But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house. And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house? And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as they soul liveth, I will not do this thing. And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow. And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.-2 Samuel 11:8-13***Years after Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge, anointed David to reign as king over the Israelites in the Promised Land, 30-year-old David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah, the tribe of his birth. The other Israelite tribes were ruled by King Ishbosheth (Esh-baal), the surviving son of King Saul, the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land. Sometime after Ish-bosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed David, and 37 1/2-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. While reigning, David sent the army, under the command of his nephew Joab, to battle the Ammonites. Uriah was the mighty warrior married to Bathsheba. When Uriah was on the battlefield, David told Joab to send Uriah back to Jerusalem. David wanted Uriah to go home and be intimate with Bathsheba, who was carrying David's child in her womb. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites,  Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
