Can't Resist When We Insist

Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night. And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me. Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way. But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed. And the woman had a fat calf in the house; and she hasted, and killed it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and did bake unleavened bread thereof: And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they did eat. Then they rose up, and went away that night.-1 Samuel 28:20-25***When Saul was searching for his father's lost donkeys, he went with his servant to seek advice from Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge. Samuel told Saul the whereabouts of the donkeys, and gave Saul a divine message, and anointed Saul to reign as king over the Israelites in the Promised Land, according to the command of the Lord God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Samuel was elderly, and Samuel's sons Joel and Abiah (Vashni and Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, and the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them. Samuel prayed to the Lord God and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, and obeyed the Lord God. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God rejected Saul from being king and sent Samuel to anoint David to reign as king. Sometime thereafter, David began working as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul while also working as a shepherd. After David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine, David stayed full-time in Saul's service. Jonathan, Saul's son, made a covenant with David, and the Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul. Saul was angry, and was afraid of David, and wanted to kill David, and commanded others, including Jonathan, to kill David. David became the husband of Saul's daughter Michal, and Michal helped David escape from their home. After Samuel died, and the Philistines were preparing another  attack, Saul disguised himself and went with 2 of his servants to see a woman reported to have specific abilities that would enable him to contact Samuel. When Saul was told that Israel would be defeated and he and his sons would be killed by the Philistines, Saul fell prostrate on the ground. Over 1,000 years after the Philistines killed Jonathan and his brothers Malchishua and Abinadab (Ishui), and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
