Unmistaken Identification

At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him. For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives. The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Bethshemesh, and Ajalon, and Gederoth, Shocho with the villages thereof, and Timnah with the villages thereof, Gimzo also and the villages thereof: and they dwelt there. For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the LORD. And Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not. For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the LORD, and out of the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave it unto the king of Assyria: but he helped him not. And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz. For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel. And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD, and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem. And in every several city of Judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger the LORD God of his fathers. Now the rest of his acts and of all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.-2 Chronicles 28:16-27***King Solomon was the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city, and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city, and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. The Israelites fought idol worshiping enemy nations and fought each other. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Amaziah was the 8th king to rule Judah. While reigning, Amaziah defeated the idol worshiping Edomites, the  descendants of Esau (Edom). The Israelites descended from Esau's younger fraternal twin brother Jacob (Israel). After Amaziah's victory, he took the idols that the Edomites worshiped, brought the idols to Jerusalem, knelt before the idols, and burned incense unto them. The Lord God sent a prophet to question and speak to Amaziah, and Amaziah responded disrespectfully. The prophet gave Amaziah a warning, and Amaziah was defeated by King Jehoash (Joash), the 12th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Amaziah's great-grandson Ahaz was the 11th king to rule Judah. After Ahaz received assistance from King Tiglath-pileser (Tilgath-pilneser), ruler of Assyria, against enemy Syrians (Arameans) and others, Ahaz went to Syria tp visit Tiglath-pileser in Damascus, a city captured by the Assyrians. Ahaz saw a particular altar and ordered Urijah, an Israelite priest, to make an identical altar in Jerusalem. Ahaz offered sacrifices upon the altar and offered sacrifices to the idols worshiped by the enemies who had defeated him. During the reign of King Pekah, the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and Tiglath-pileser began taking Israelites to Assyria. During the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Ahaz's great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin and his family, to Babylon. During the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
