King Jehoram (Joram),
ruler of Judah

Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead. And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel. And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn. Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel. Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD. Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever. In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king. Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots. So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers. Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto. And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah, But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself: Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods: And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.-2 Chronicles 21:1-15***Saul was from was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Over 300 years after Joshua led his fellow Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel, the  priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, appoint a king to lead them. Samuel prayed to the Lord God, and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, and anointed Saul to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Judah, to reign as king. Sometime thereafter, David began to serve as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul, and killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, and made a covenant with Jonathan, Saul's son, and married Saul's daughter Michal, and escaped from home to avoid being killed by Saul's men. After Saul's self-inflicted death on the battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old and he began to reign as king only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37 1/2-year-old David, and he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign.  Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. Murderers and idolaters always ruled the northern nation of Israel. Judah was successively ruled by descendants of David, except for the 6-year reign of Athaliah. Athaliah was the wife of Rehoboam's great-great-grandson Jehoram (Joram), the 5th king to rule Judah. Jehoram and Athaliah were idolaters. Athaliah's father King Ahab, the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, and Ahab's father King Omri, the 6th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation, worshiped idols. Jehoram's father King Jehoshaphat was Rehoboam's great-grandson and the 4th king to rule Judah. Jehoshaphat's father King Asa was Rehoboam's grandson and the 3rd king to rule Judah. Asa and Jehoshaphat only worshiped the Lord God. During Jehoram's reign, the Lord God sent a message to Jehoram through a letter written by Elijah, the prophet who went up into heaven by a whirlwind. Jehoram managed to get away from the enemy Edomites. However, Jehoram was not able to save himself from seeing the captivity of his family, nor was he able to escape being afflicted with a fatal disease. Over 800 years after Jehoram and Athaliah's grandson Joash (Jehoash) became the 7th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
