From a letter written by Simon Peter
to believers:
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.-2 Peter 3:1-10***Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, is the Word. The Word was with the Lord God in the beginning. Everything was created by him and for him and eternal life is only in belief in Jesus the Christ. Over 3,500 years after the Lord God created Adam, the 1st man, and made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam, Jesus the Christ was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that, initially, only Mary, and Joseph, and Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest, and Zechariah's wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth), and a group of shepherds, and some wise men from the east, and devout and righteous Israelites Simeon and Anna knew Jesus to be the Christ. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Zechariah and Elizabeth's son John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus identified himself as the Son of God, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged the identity of Jesus the Christ. In Caesarea Philippi, Simon Peter received the revelation of Jesus being the Christ. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, and resurrected. Jesus appeared and spoke to his disciples, and at least 500 other people. saw Jesus. Jesus spoke a specific message to Simon Peter, and Simon Peter gradually became a leader among the believers.-Genesis 1:1-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-12:25, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John 1:1-10
