And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go. Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand. And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear. Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood. And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river. And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone. And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.-Exodus 7:14-21***The Israelites (Hebrews/Jews) are descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his wives Leah and Rachel and maidservants Bilhah and Zilpah, and the 12 sons born to Jacob, his wives and maidservants. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph, the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, was second-in-command. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead,  Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Moses was saved from slavery and death when his mother Jochebed placed him in a specially prepared basket and set the basket among the vegetation on the bank of the river. Miriam was watching as the daughter of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, told her maiden to get the basket. Moreover, Miriam arranged for Jochebed to be the nursemaid for Moses. After Jochebed took Moses to Pharaoh's daughter, Pharaoh's daughter named and raised Moses. When Moses was 40 years old, he killed an Egyptian, left Egypt and began living in Midian. Moses married Zipporah, and their sons Gershom and Eliezer were born. When Moses was 80 years old, he went to look at a fiery sight and heard the voice of the Lord God speak to him. The Lord God sent Moses and 83-year-old Aaron to speak to Pharaoh and tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go for a 3-day journey into the wilderness to worship the Lord God. The Lord God told Moses that he knew Pharaoh would not let the Israelites leave. The Lord God said he would strike the people of Egypt with wonders and Pharaoh would let the Israelites take the journey. The 1st wonder the Egyptians saw involved Aaron's staff and a snake.The 2nd wonder involved the river and fish. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go serve the Lord God. Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, and resurrected.
