A message the Lord God
revealed to Jeremiah the prophet:
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his way, and according to the fruit of his doings.-Jeremiah 17:5-10***David, from the tribe of Judah, was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Rehoboam's grandson Asa was the 3rd king to rule Judah. During his 41-year reign, Asa paid King Benhadad, ruler of Syria (Aram), to help him defeat King Baasha, the 3rd king to rule the northern nation of Israel. Jehoshaphat, the son born to Asa and Azubah, was the 4th king to rule Judah. Ahab was the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Ahab asked Jehoshaphat to fight alongside him in a battle against the Syrians (Arameans). Despite the words of the Lord God proclaimed by Micaiah the prophet, Ahab and Jehoshaphat went to battle the Syrians. Jehoshaphat's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Ahaz was the 11th king to rule Judah. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. King Rezin was ruler of Syria (Aram). Ahaz paid King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, to help him when Pekah and Rezin launched an attack. Moreover, during Pekah's 20-year reign, Tiglath-pileser began taking Israelites captive. King Hoshea was the 19th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Hoshea paid tribute money to King Shalmaneser, ruler of Assyria, while also seeking help from King So, ruler of Egypt, and Shalmaneser imprisoned Hoshea. During the 9th year of Hoshea's reign, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Ahaz's great-great-grandson Josiah was the 15th king to rule Judah. During the last 18 years of Josiah's 31-year reign, and the 3-month reign of Jehoahaz, a son born to Josiah and Hamutal, and the reign of Jehoiakim (Eliakim), the son born to Josiah and Zebudah, and the reign of Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, and the reign of Josiah and Hamutal's son Zedekiah (Mattaniah), Jeremiah the prophet proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. Zedekiah sought help from Pharaoh, ruler of Egypt. During the 9th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. A group of Israelites took Jeremiah with them to Egypt, and Jeremiah continued proclaiming the words of the Lord God. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
