...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Romans 15:4 (KJV) reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Get to Gettin'

King Solomon and Abiathar the priest

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted. So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfill the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh
.
-1 Kings 2:26-27***Solomon was born to King David and Bathsheba. David was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, and Solomon was the 3rd king to reign. Before Solomon built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, the priests served the Lord at the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting that
was located in Gibeon during David's reign and Solomon's reign. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Israelites built the transportable tabernacle in the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, months after Moses and his older brother Aaron led them away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God.  During the 40th year of their journey from Egypt to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. While each tribe was being given its portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites placed the tabernacle in Shiloh. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Jacob's 12th and last son Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign. Amnon was born to David and Ahinoam. Absalom and Tamar were born to David and Maacah. While David reigned, Amnon raped Tamar. After Absalom commanded his servants to kill Amnon, Absalom ran to Geshur, Syria (Aram), the kingdom of his maternal grandfather. Joab, David's nephew and army commander, devised a plan, and David granted Joab permission to bring Absalom home. However, Absalom was not allowed to see David. Sometime after physically reuniting with David, Absalom began working to have himself proclaimed king while David reigned. David and many of those loyal to David hurriedly left Jerusalem, and David told Zadok the priest and Abiathar the priest to remain in Jerusalem with their sons and the ark of the covenant of the Lord. After Joab cast 3 weapons into Absalom's body, and Joab's armor-bearers attacked Absalom, against David's command, and Absalom died, David returned to Jerusalem, and Abiathar continued to serve as priest. When Adonijah, the son born to David and Haggith, wanted to have himself proclaimed king, Abiathar and Joab were among those who gave Adonijah their support. Nathan the prophet spoke to Bathsheba, and Bathsheba spoke to David, and Nathan spoke to David, and David spoke to Bathsheba, and gave David gave a command for Solomon to be anointed and reign as king, according to the will of the Lord God. Abiathar's son Jonathan revealed the news of Solomon's kingship to  Adonijah. Solomon declared that Adonijah would only be killed if Adonijah continued to be wicked. A request Adonijah asked of Bathsheba caused Solomon to command that Adonijah be killed. Meanwhile, Solomon spoke to Abiathar, who had always served David, even during the years David lived on the run from Saul. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the  tribe of David and his descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-14:31, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-12:16, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
