Worse Perverse

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem: But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel. For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever. And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever: Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses. So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel. And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken. Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon. And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.-2 Chronicles 33:1-13***King Manasseh was the 13th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. Manasseh's father King Hezekiah was the 12th king to rule Judah.  Hezekiah was the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of King Rehoboam, the 1st king to rule Judah. Rehoboam's grandfather King David was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Solomon, the son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. David and his descendants were from the tribe of Judah. David and Hezekiah only worshiped the Lord God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible identify David as a man after God's own heart, and Hezekiah's unparalleled trust in the Lord God is described. Solomon began his reign worshiping the Lord God. However, during Solomon's elderly years he worshiped the idols worshiped by his 700 hundred wives. Rehoboam and Manasseh were idol worshipers. Manasseh sacrificed at least 1 of his sons in an idolatrous fire ritual. In Jerusalem, Manasseh commanded the deaths of many prophets of the Lord God. Moreover, Manasseh was responsible for sin and bloodshed that the Lord God was not willing to forgive. Over 30 years after the Assyrians invaded the northern nation and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites, the Assyrians took Manasseh captive to Babylon. In Babylon, Manasseh prayed to the Lord God and Manasseh was returned to Jerusalem. During the reign of Manasseh's great-grandson King Jehoiakim (Eliakim), the 17th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians invaded Judah and Jerusalem and began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians began taking Israelites to Babylon. During the reign of Jehoiakim's bother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
