...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Oh

And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day. And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth. Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law? And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest? Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people. But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council. Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both. And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God. And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle. And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.-Acts 23:1-11***The Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the apostle Paul (Saul) were Israelites, descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah,  and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Immediately before the Lord God destroyed Sodom, Gomorrah and the surrounding region, 99-year-old Abraham was in the presence of the Lord and 2 angels of the Lord. Years thereafter, when Abraham was preparing to sacrificially slaughter Isaac, according to the command of the Lord God, the angel of the Lord gave Abraham a new command from the Lord. When Isaac was at least 37 years old, Abraham told his trusted servant that the Lord God would send his angel before and with the servant when the servant went on a mission to find a bride for Isaac. When Jacob was asleep in Luz (Bethel) after leaving the family's home in Canaan on his journey to Haran in northern Mesopotamia, Jacob saw the angels of God on a ladder. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God stood above the ladder. Twenty years after Jacob saw the angels and the ladder, Jacob told his wives Leah and Rachel of a dream wherein the angel of God spoke a message to him from the Lord God. When Jacob was journeying from Haran to Canaan with Leah, Rachel, maidservants Bilhah and Zilpah, children, and possessions, Jacob encountered the angels of God. Over 1,800 years after 147-year old Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, approximately 4 miles from Bethel, into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle. Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven. Paul was from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, and did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned Israelites who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. Years thereafter, Paul was in Jerusalem speaking to the members of the Sanhedrin, the high court of the Israelites, including the high priest, chief priests, Pharisees, and Sadducees.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 11:19-28:31
