...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.-Matthew 9:1-9***Siblings Simon Peter and Andrew were fishermen when Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, told them to follow him. Two other Israelite siblings, James and John, were fishermen when Jesus told them to follow him. Simon Peter, James and John became the disciples and apostles most constantly with Jesus as Jesus was teaching, preaching and performing miracles among the Israelites throughout Galilee, Samaria, Judea, and the surrounding regions. Matthew (Levi) was a publican working for the Roman Empire collecting taxes from his fellow Israelites when Jesus spoke to him. Joseph of Arimathea is identified as a secret disciple of Jesus, and Joseph of Arimathea was a wealthy member of the Sanhedrin, the high court of the Israelites (Hebrews/Jews). In Galilee, Jesus told Philip to follow him, and Jesus spoke to Nathanael. However, the occupation or economic status of Philip, Nathanael, and the other disciples and apostles who followed Jesus are not revealed in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible. Notably, the Scriptures reveal that before Jesus told Simon Peter, James, John, Philip, and Matthew to follow him, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. Approximately 30 years before Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus told Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, and Matthew to follow him, Jesus was betrayed by the disciple and apostle Judas Iscariot, and Jesus was arrested, crucifiedburied in a tomb, resurrected,
seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26 Less
