Ran and Hid Instead of Rid

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth. And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria. And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly: For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.) And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts. So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.-1 Kings 18:1-6***King Ahab was the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. Ahab was married to Jezebel, a princess from Sidon (Zidon), Phoenicia. Ahab and Jezebel promoted idolatry throughout the northern nation. They built an altar and a temple for false worship in Samaria, the royal city, and Jezebel commanded the deaths of the prophets of the Lord God. Elijah the prophet and Obadiah worshiped the Lord God and had enough freedom to do the will of the Lord God. Obadiah was a member of Ahab's royal staff. Before Elijah and Obadiah crossed paths, Obadiah was able to secretly shepherd 100 prophets of the Lord God to a safe place. Sometime thereafter, Elijah went to Mount Carmel and proclaimed a challenge to the Israelites and Jezebel's false prophets. Over 800 years after Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the Israelite tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
