From the Epistle of James,
in the New Testament of the Holy Bible:
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.-James 5:13-16
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way, shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.-James 5:17-20***Elijah (Elias) the prophet was proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites when King Ahab was ruling over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. Elijah and Ahab were Israelites, descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Ahab was the 7th king to rule the northern nation of Israel and was married to Jezebel, a Sidonian (Zidonian) princess. Before there was a famine throughout the northern nation of Israel, Elijah warned Ahab that there would not be any dew or rain. After Elijah spoke to Ahab, Elijah obeyed the command that he heard the word of the Lord God speak to him. Thus, Elijah drank water from the Brook Cherith, and ate the bread and meat that the Lord God commanded ravens to bring to Elijah. When the Brook Cherith was dry from lack of rain, Elijah went to Zarephath (Sarepta) in Sidon, according to the command that he heard the word of the Lord God speak to him. In Zarephath, Elijah was fed and housed by a widow, the mother of a son. Sometime thereafter, when the widow's son was dead, Elijah cried out to the Lord God, and stretched his body upon the widow's son 3 times, and cried out and prayed to the Lord God. The Lord God heard Elijah's voice, and the soul of the widow's son came back to the widow's son, and the widow's son was alive. During the 3rd year of the famine, the Lord God told Elijah to present himself to Ahab, and the Lord God said he would send rain upon the earth. Upon Mount Carmel, Elijah pronounced a challenge to the Israelites and the false prophets, and Elijah prayed to the Lord God. After the Israelites saw the fire of the Lord God fall and consume the burnt sacrifice, wood, stones, and dust, and lick up the water, the Israelites proclaimed that the Lord God is the God. Elijah put the false prophets to death and Elijah spoke to Ahab about eating, drinking and rain. Over 800 years Ahab died after being wounded in a battle against the Syrians (Arameans), and Ahab and Jezebel's son Ahaziah became the 8th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, and Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Judea, into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Sometime thereafter, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told Joseph to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt to avoid the murderous intentions of King Herod the Great, ruler of Judea for the Roman Empire. After Herod was dead, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told Joseph to return with Mary and Jesus. After another divine warning, Joseph, Mary and Jesus began living in Nazareth, the hometown of Joseph and Mary in Galilee. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that other children, including James, Joses (Joseph), Simon, and Judas (Juda), also lived in the household. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including fisherman James, the son of Zebedee and brother of fisherman John, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. In a synagogue in Nazareth, Galilee, Jesus spoke about Elijah and the famine and the widow. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, including fishermen James and John and their fellow disciple and apostle James the son of Alphaeus, and Jesus returned to heaven. The divinely inspired Epistle of James was written after King Herod Agrippa I, the grandson of King Herod the Great, put to death James, the son of Zebedee and brother of John.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, James
