Up and at 'Em

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.-Acts 3:1-11***Solomon was born into the tribe of Judah to King David and Bathsheba. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Leah was the 1st daughter born to Laban the Syrian. Laban and Rebekah were born to Bethuel, and Bethuel was born to Nahor, and Nahor was the brother of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew). Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham and Sarah (Sarai). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah. Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad. Arphaxad was born to Shem. Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch. Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth. Seth was born to Adam and his wife Eve, the mother of all living. The Lord God created Adam, the 1st man. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Eve after taking a part out of Adam. David was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Solomon was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. During the 4th year of Solomon's 40-year reign, Solomon's workers laid the foundation of the temple in Jerusalem, the royal city, and in the 11th year, the workers finished building the temple. The porch in front of the temple was built according to the plans that David received from the hand of the Lord God upon him. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the ark of the covenant of the Lord and all of the other sacred items were put in their proper places inside and outside the temple. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city, and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city, and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. King Hoshea was the 19th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During the 9th year of Hoshea's reign, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Elikim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah) the 18th king, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylons conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Moreover, the Babylonians looted and burned the temple. Less than 70 years after Jerusalem was conquered, King Cyrus, ruler of the Persian Empire, allowed the Israelites to return to Judah and Jerusalem and build a temple. Over 500 years after the new, smaller temple was built, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. After Joseph, Mary and Jesus stayed in Egypt for awhile, they lived in the family home in Nazareth, in Galilee. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter and Zebedee's son John, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus chose 12 of his disciples, including Simon Peter and John, and named them apostles, and sent them on a mission only among the Israelites. After the 12 returned, Jesus sent out at least 70 others. Once, during the annual Feast of Dedication (Festival of Lights/Hanukkah), Jesus was in Solomon's porch speaking to a group of Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle. Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, including Simon Peter and John, and returned to heaven. Sometime thereafter, Simon Peter became a leader among the Israelite believers.
