Against Me Are Ye

King Amon

Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did. And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them: And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD. And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house. And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead
.
-2 Kings 21:19-24***King Amon was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Amon's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather King David was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. The 1st king to reign, King Saul, was from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to  Jacob, and their descendants. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Less than 200 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Amon was the 14th king to rule Judah. Some of Amon's ancestors, including David, were wholly
devoted to the Lord God. Others were partially devoted, and the rest were renown idolaters. David, Solomon, Rehoboam, Rehoboam's son King Abijam (Abijah), Abijam's grandson King Jehoshaphat,  Jehoshaphat's great-great-great-great-grandson King Jotham, Jotham's son King Ahaz, Ahaz's son King Hezekiah, and Hezekiah's son King Manasseh  died peaceably. Jehoshaphat's father King Asa, Asa's grandson King Joram (Jehoram), and Joram's great-great-grandson King Uzziah (Azariah) died while afflicted with a disease. Joram's son  King Ahaziah and Ahaziah's grandson King Amaziah died after being fatally attacked. Ahaziah's son King Joash (Jehoash) was fatally attacked while possibly also afflicted with disease. Amon's son Josiah, the 15th king to rule Judah, worshiped the Lord God. After Pharaoh Necho, king of Egypt, warned Josiah not to attack him, archers attacked Josiah and Josiah died. Josiah's son Jehoahaz, the 16th king to rule Judah, reigned for 3 months. Necho took Jehoahaz captive and Jehoahaz died in Egypt. Necho set Josiah's son Eliakim as king and renamed him Jehoiakim. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and his mother Nehushta, to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar set Josiah's son Mattaniah as king and renamed him Zedekiah. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. The Babylonians killed Zedekiah's sons while Zedekiah watched, and removed Zedekiah's eyes from their sockets, and took Zedekiah to Babylon. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah 39:1-18, 52:1-34, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
