Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth, I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These things I command you, that ye love one another.-John 15:9-17***Simon Peter and Andrew, James and John, Philip, Matthew (Levi), Thomas, Bartholomew, James the son of Alphaeus, Lebbaeus Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot (Cananaean), and Judas Iscariot were the 12 disciples who remained with Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, when other disciples left. They were also the first apostles Jesus sent to go among their fellow Israelites and preach the message of repentance and the nearness of the kingdom of heaven. While on the mission, the 12 disciples and apostles were also to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, and cast out evil spirits. Each of the 12 disciples and apostles was an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Abraham was a friend of God. Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, Jesus was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told Philip, Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, and Matthew to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God.
