Big-Time Plans

King Joash (Jehoash)

Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Zibiah of Beersheba. And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest. And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters. And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD. And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.-2 Chronicles 24:1-5***The house of the Lord was the temple of the Lord built in Jerusalem by King Solomon. Solomon was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Levi was Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son. The priests and Levites were from the tribe of Levi. Saul was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. Saul was  the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land. Solomon's father David was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites, and Solomon was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Rehoboam's son Abijam (Abijah) was the 2nd king to rule Judah. Abijam's son Asa was the 3rd king to reign. Asa's son Jehoshaphat was the 4th king. Jehoshaphat's son Jehoram (Joram) was the 5th king. Jehoram's wife Athaliah was the daughter of King Ahab, the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Jehoram and Athaliah's son Ahaziah was the 6th king to rule Judah. After Ahaziah was wounded and died, Athaliah commanded the royal descendants to be killed, and Athaliah ruled the kingdom. However, Ahaziah's sister Jehosheba (Jehoshabeath), the wife of Jehoiada the priest, saved Ahaziah's 1-year-old son Joash (Jehoash) and Joash's nurse, and for 6 years Joash was hidden in a bedroom on the temple grounds. When Joash was 7 years old, Jehoiada, his sons and those with them presented Joash to the Israelites, and Joash was crowned, and anointed, and became the 7th king to rule Judah. Athaliah was killed. Joash's mother Zibiah was from Beersheba, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 2nd born son Simeon. Abijam's mother Maacah (Michaiah) was from Gibeah. Gibeah was a city in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Judah, and Gibeah was the name of a city in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin. Rehoboam's mother Naamah was an Ammonite, a descendant of Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lot and Lot's youngest daughter, and the son, Ben-ammi, born to Lot and his daughter. Solomon's mother Bathsheba (Bathshua) was previously married to Uriah, a Hittite. The Hittites were idol worshipers living in Canaan when the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Notably, Uriah was one of David's mighty men. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible do not reveal any background information about Joram's mother, or Jehoshaphat's mother Azubah, or Asa's mother, or David's mother, or Saul's mother. Amaziah was born to Joash and Jehoaddan. Jehoaddan was from Jerusalem. Over 700 years after Joash became an idolater,  and was killed, and Amaziah became the 8th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45,  20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 15:1-63, 18:11-19:9, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings,, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:1-11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
