...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Romans 15:4 (KJV) reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

We Spy the Non-Israelites

Caleb, Joshua, and the other spies

And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes. So  they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath. And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. The place was called the brook Eshchol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence. And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight

-Numbers 13:17-33***When Moses and his older brother Aaron led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, according to the commands of the Lord God, the Israelites were not experienced warriors. Thus, the Lord God did not make the Israelites walk through the territory of the Philistines. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the angel of God went before the Israelites. Near  the Red Sea, the Israelites saw the Egyptians hurrying towards them, and the Israelites began crying to the Lord God and complaining to Moses. The Lord God gave Moses commands, and the Lord God caused an east wind to drive back the water. The sea was divided, and the Israelites, and those with them, went safely across. As Moses continued obeying the commands of the Lord God, the sea returned to its full depth, and the Egyptians were overthrown by the Lord God, and the Egyptians drowned. Moses and his fellow Israelites sang a song to the Lord God, and the ladies with Miriam, Moses and Aaron's older sister, played timbrels (tambourines/hand drums) and danced. In Rephidim, the Amalekites attacked the Israelites, killing the Israelites who were the weakest and walking the farthest from the front. told Joshua to gather men and fight the Amalekites, and the Lord God gave the Israelites the victory. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, Moses consecrated the Israelites, and the Israelites washed their clothes, according to the commands of the Lord God, and Lord God descended upon Mount Sinai in fire. The Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Israelites were frightened and told Moses they were afraid they would die, and told Moses to speak to them. The Lord God agreed, and told Moses the words he wanted him to speak to the Israelites, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes  and laws for the Israelites. The Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites, and the Israelites said they would obey the words of the Lord God. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God gave Moses commands about the offering willing Israelites were to bring, and the Lord described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the other sacred items that the Israelites were to make, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests, and the Lord God gave Moses 2 stone tablets whereupon were written, with the finger of God, the Ten Commandments. Meanwhile, the Israelites thought they were abandoned and told Aaron to make gods to lead them. Aaron told the Israelites to bring him their gold earrings, and Aaron made a golden calf that the Israelites worshiped. Moses saw the Israelites and the golden calf. Moses threw down the 2 stone tablets, and burned and ground the golden calf, and asked the Israelites a question. The Levites, the Israelites in the tribe of Levi, the birth tribe of Miriam, Aaron and Moses, gathered around Moses and killed approximately 3,000 Israelites, according to the command of the Lord God. Moses spoke to the Israelites, and spoke to the Lord God, and the Lord God and Moses spoke to each other and Moses made a request. The Lord God gave Moses a command, and Moses obeyed the command and went upon Mount Sinai. The Lord God descended in the cloud, and passed in front of Moses, and made proclamations about himself. Moses spoke to the Lord God, and the Lord God spoke to Moses, and the Lord God gave Moses 2 stone tablets whereupon with written, with the finger of God, the Ten Commandments. When Moses returned to the Israelites, his facial skin shone, and the Israelites were afraid to go near Moses. Therefore, when Moses proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, he put a veil on his face. In the desert wilderness of Paran, Moses sent 12 spies, including Joshua,
to Canaan, the Promised Land. After 10 of the spies returned with a terrifying report of gigantic inhabitants and walled cities, the Israelites became frightened. Joshua the spy and Caleb the spy gave a good report of the land, the Lord God and victory. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses aide and successor. After the Lord God spoke to him, and Joshua sent 2 spies to Canaan, and Rahab hid the spies, and the spies returned, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to  Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 10:11-36, 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 1:1-2:37, 4:32-40, 5:1-33, 25:17-19, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
