...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

The Bottom Line

Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them. And he spake this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath  found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.-Luke 15:1-10***The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that angels brought messages from the Lord God to men and women. Angels accomplished the actions that the Lord God sent them to perform, and angels were sent by the Lord God to go before specific people. The Lord God sent his angel to go before the top servant of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) when Abraham sent the servant from Canaan to northern Mesopotamia to find a maiden willing to become the wife of Isaac, the son born to Abraham and his wife Sarah (Sarai).  Rebekah, the grandniece of Abraham and Sarah, willingly journeyed to Canaan and was married to Isaac. During the 20th year of their marriage, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Decades after Esau and Jacob were born, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob and Leah. Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and Leah, the Lord God sent the angel Gabriel to speak to elderly Zechariah the priest and tell Zechariah about the son, John the Baptist, to be born to Zechariah and his elderly wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Six months thereafter, the Lord God sent the angel Gabriel to speak to Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and tell Mary that Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was going to be conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb when Mary was a virgin. After Jesus the Christ was divinely conceived in Mary's womb, an angel spoke to Joseph, the craftsman whom Mary was pledged to wed. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee,  Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Tax collectors (publicans), Pharisees and scribes were among those who heard Jesus use a parable to speak about joy and angels.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-24:25, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-6:27, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 6:1-8:35, 13:1-16:31, 2 Samuel 24:1-25, 1 Kings 19:1-21:29, 2 Kings 18:1-19:37, 1 Chronicles 21:1-30, 2 Chronicles 32:1-33, Psalm 34, Psalm 91, Psalm 103, Isaiah 36:1-37:38, Daniel 3:1-30, 6:1-28, Zechariah 1:1-6:15, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 5:1-8:40, 10:1-12:25, 27:1-44, Hebrews 1:1-14
