Between Me and You

Then came the word of the LORD unto the prophet Jeremiah saying, Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land. And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire. Thus saith the LORD; Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart. For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire. And it came to pass, that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem from fear of Pharaoh's army, Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people. And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans. Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes. Wherefore the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison. When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days; Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon. Moreover Jeremiah said unto king Zedekiah, What have I offended against thee, or against thy servants, or against this people, that ye have put me in prison? Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land? Therefore hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there. Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the baker's street, until all the bread in the city was spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.-Jeremiah 37:6-21***When King Josiah reigned in Jerusalem over the southern nation of Judah in the Promised Land, and during the reign of Josiah's son Jehoahaz, and the reign of Josiah's son Jehoiakim (Eliakim), and the reign of Jehoiakim's son Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), and the reign of Josiah's son Zedekiah (Mattaniah), Jeremiah the prophet was proclaiming the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. Some of the Israelites made plans to kill Jeremiah and some spoke derogatorily to and about Jeremiah. Pashur was responsible for Jeremiah getting hit and being bound overnight. A group of priests and prophets worked to have Jeremiah put to death. Zedekiah was responsible for Jeremiah's imprisonment in the courtyard of the prison guardhouse. Irijah, a captain of the guard, arrested Jeremiah, and Jeremiah was hit and put into the dungeon in the home of Jonathan the scribe. After Jeremiah's visit and plea to Zedekiah, Jeremiah was returned to the courtyard of the prison guardhouse. Shephatiah, Gedaliah, Jehucal, and Pashhur were given control over Jeremiah and immediately placed Jeremiah in a waterless, muddy cistern on the property of Malchiah. Ebed-melech, a eunuch of Cushite or Ethiopian descent, spoke to Zedekiah and was given permission and a crew to rescue Jeremiah, and Jeremiah was rescued and placed in the courtyard of the prison guardhouse. Before the Babylonians (Chaldeans) conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites, King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, instructed his military commander Nebuzaradan to get Jeremiah and fulfill Jeremiah's requests. Thus, Jeremiah was taken out of the courtyard of the prison guardhouse. Shortly thereafter, Nebuzaradan found Jeremiah bound among the Israelites being forced to Babylon, and Nebuzaradan freed Jeremiah and gave Jeremiah options and goods. Over 500 years after a group of Israelites took Jeremiah with them to Egypt, and Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, nearly 6 miles from Jerusalem, into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Josiah and all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Before Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, and after Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 33 1/2 years after he was born, the Roman Empire was ruling the land whereupon the kingdoms of the Israelites previously stood.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Jeremiah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
