...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites: and they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves. Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan-rishathaim eight years. And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. And the spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim. And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died. And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD. And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees. So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.-Judges 3:5-14***When the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the outcries and pain of the Israelites. The Lord God told Moses that he was going to deliver the Israelites from the Egyptians and bring the Israelites to the land of milk and honey that was inhabited by the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, 80-year-old Moses and his 83-year-old brother Aaron led their fellow Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, on a journey towards Canaan. Over 400 years before Moses, Aaron and their older sister Miriam were born into the tribe of Levi, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. When the Israelites were camped in Kadesh Barnea in the desert wilderness of Paran, the Lord God told Moses to send 1 man from each of the Israelite tribes to search Canaan. Moreover, the Israelites wanted Moses to send men into the land. The 12 spies returned with good news about Canaan and the fruit that grew in the land, and frightening news about the Anakim, Amalekites, Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, and Canaanites. Only Caleb, from the tribe of Judah, and Joshua, from the tribe of Ephraim, spoke of victory. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died. Before Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried, Moses proclaimed his final messages to the Israelites. Moses recounted some of the history of the Israelites, and the commandments, judgments, statutes, and laws that the Lord God gave for the Israelites, including commandments about idolatry and marriage.  Joshua was Moses' successor and led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land. Before 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, he proclaimed his final messages to the Israelites. After Joshua's death, the Israelites repeatedly disobeyed the commands of the Lord God, particularly if there was no judge leading them. Othniel the judge was closely related to Caleb. Over 1,000 years after Samuel, the priest and prophet from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi, the birth tribe of Miriam, Aaron and Moses, served as the last faithful judge and Saul, from the tribe of Jacob's 12th and last son Benjamin, became the 1st king to rule the Israelites in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 4:1-23, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:34-44, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
