...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Through with You

The apostle Paul, Barnabas and John Mark

Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work. And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus; And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God

-Acts 15:35-40***Barnabas was an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. At least 3 years after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, Barnabas was instrumental in getting the disciples and apostles in Jerusalem to believe that the apostle Paul believed Jesus to be the Christ. Paul was previously known for persecuting and imprisoning Israelites who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that when Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus Paul was baptized. Barnabas and Paul reconnected in Tarsus, Paul's birthplace. After teaching in Tarsus, Paul and Barnabas taught in Antioch and went to Jerusalem. Before leaving Jerusalem, Barnabas' relative John Mark (Marcus) joined them, and assisted Paul and Barnabas when they returned to Antioch, and when they taught in Seleucia. Moreover, John Mark helped Paul and Barnabas in synagogues from Salamis to Paphos on the island of Cyprus, the birthplace of Barnabas. In Perga, Pamphylia, John Mark left Paul and Barnabas and returned to Jerusalem. When Paul wanted to revisit several places, Barnabas wanted to take John Mark with them.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Galatians 1:1-2:21, Colossians 4:10, 2 Timothy 4:1-22
