...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Offerings without the Beg and Plead

Barnabas and the apostle Paul

Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judea: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul

-Acts 11:25-30***Barnabas (Joseph/Joses) was an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Sometime after Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven, Barnabas and other believers voluntarily sold personal property and gave the money to the apostles who were working to spread the good news of Jesus the Christ. Several years thereafter, Barnabas spoke to the apostles on behalf of the apostle Paul (Saul). Paul was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin. The apostles were wary of Paul inasmuch as they knew that Paul previously persecuted and imprisoned Israelites throughout Jerusalem who believed Jesus to be the Christ. The Israelite church leaders in Jerusalem eventually sent Barnabas to check on reports of new believers in Antioch, Syria, including Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes. After the new believers in Antioch heard that a famine was expected, they freely gathered funds and gave the money to Barnabas and Saul to take to the Israelite elders for distribution.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts
