Plain and Simple

The Words of
Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.-Matthew 10:32-42***Joshua was an Israelite from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Over 200 years after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, there was a famine. Amid the famine, Elimelech, Naomi and their sons Mahlon and Chilion moved from their home in Bethlehem, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Judah, and began living among the Moabites. The Moabites were descendants of Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lot and Lot's oldest daughter, and the son, Moab, born to Lot and his daughter. The Israelites worshiped the Lord God. The Moabites worshiped idols. In the land of the Moabites, Elimelech died, Mahlon became married to Ruth and Chilion was married to Orpah. Ruth and Orpah were Moabite women. After Mahlon and Chilion died, and Naomi heard that the Lord God was providing for the Israelites, Naomi returned to Bethlehem with Ruth, who vowed to go wherever Naomi went, stay wherever Naomi stayed, have Naomi's people be her people, and Naomi's God as her God, and die and be buried wherever Naomi died. Ruth worked to take care of herself and Naomi, and Ruth married Boaz, Naomi's wealthy relative. Boaz was from the tribe of Judah, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Obed was born to Boaz and Ruth. Jesse was born to Obed. David was the 8th son born to Jesse. Over a decade after David was born, Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi, anointed David to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land. When David was 37 1/2 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Before Jesus sent his 12 disciples on their 1st mission, Jesus spoke to them about the villages they were to enter, the actions they were to perform, the wisdom they were to use, and the hatred they would experience. Jesus told the disciples not to be afraid, and Jesus the Christ, the Prince of Peace, spoke to his disciples about the division he had come to bring between family members, including divisions between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, Isaiah 7:1-25, 9:1-21, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
