...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Why, Lord, Why

And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye, and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bride chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. -Matthew 9:9-17***Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the Israelite tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. King Herod the Great, ruler of Judea for the Roman Empire, was trying to kill Jesus and commanded that all boys 2 years old and younger throughout Bethlehem and the surrounding region be killed. An angel of the Lord told Joseph in a dream to take Joseph and Mary to Egypt and stay in Egypt until he brought another message to Joseph. After the death of Herod, an angel of the Lord told Joseph in a dream to return to Israel. After Joseph received a divine warning in a dream, Joseph, Mary and Jesus lived in Galilee, in Nazareth, the hometown of Joseph and Mary. Approximately 30 years old after Jesus was born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist.  The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Jesus was questioned about his identity, background and credentials. The Pharisees were Israelites and presented themselves as a group whose members did not need to be questioned about their identity, inasmuch as they were instantly recognizable by the items they wore and actions they performed. Tax collectors and sinners were also apparently recognizable. Thus, the Pharisees questioned the disciples of Jesus regarding Jesus' association with sinners and tax collectors, and the disciples of John the Baptist questioned Jesus about the fasting practices of Jesus' disciples.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
