...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. There Was a Whole Lot of Killing Going On

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of  yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian. Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war. So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war. And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand. And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; And they slew all the males. And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword. And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods. And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire. And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts. And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho. And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp. And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle. And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.-Numbers 31:1-18***The Israelites descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). The Midianites descended from Abraham and his 2nd wife Keturah. The Moabites descended from Abraham and Sarah's nephew Lot and Lot's oldest daughter and their son Moab. Over 350 years after Levi was born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. Before 40-year-old Moses killed an Egyptian, Moses lived as the son of the daughter of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the murder was mentioned to Moses, Moses fled from Egypt and began living in Midian. Moses married Zipporah, a Midianite woman, worked as a shepherd for his father-in-law, and Gershom and Eliezer were born to Moses and Zipporah. When Moses was 80 years old, he saw a fiery sight that led to his conversation with the Lord God. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. Shortly thereafter, Moses' father-in-law Jethro (Reuel), brought Zipporah, Gershom and Eliezer to Moses and advised Moses. The next year, when Moses and Aaron were preparing to lead everyone from the desert wilderness of Sinai and the Mount Sinai region, Moses asked his in-law Hobab to join them and help on their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land. During the 40-year journey, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When Moses and the Israelites were in the region of the Moabites, King Balak, ruler of the Moabites, convinced the Midianite elders to gather with him in a plot against the Israelites. Balak and the Midianites sent for Balaam the seer to curse the Israelites. Balaam realized that the Lord God blessed the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Eventually, Balaam went back to his home. In Shittim, the Israelite men were involved with Moabite women and the idols the Moabite women worshiped. The Lord God gave Moses a command regarding whom to put to death, and the Lord God sent a plague that killed over 20,000 Israelites. Before 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried, the Lord God specified the actions to take against the Midianites. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel,  their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Over 1,400 years after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 22:1-25:18, 27:12-23, 31:1-54, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 6:1-8:35, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
