...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

This Place Is Too Small

And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, Master! for it was borrowed. And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.-2 Kings 6:1-7***Elijah and Elisha were Israelites, and prophets of the the Lord God, and lived in the Promised Land. Elijah and Elisha went to Gilgal, Bethel and Jericho before being separated at the Jordan River by a chariot of fire and horses of fire. The prophets at Jericho were standing at a distance when Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind, and the prophets proclaimed that the spirit of Elijah rested on Elisha. The prophets honored Elisha and sought his permission to look for Elijah. Sometime thereafter, Elisha journeyed to:

Bethel- the home of a group of prophets.
Mount Carmel - wherein Elijah had previously put forth a challenge.
Samaria - the royal city of the northern nation of Israel.
Shunem - the place wherein Elisha was given a place to stay.
Gilgal -the place wherein Elisha made a deadly meal edible.

When Elisha returned to the region of the Jordan River, Elisha helped a panic-stricken prophet. Over 750 years after Elisha died  and was buried, and a dead man began living after the dead man's body touched Elisha's bones, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 18:15-22, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings 1:1-13:25, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
