...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Friends in Deed

The response Job gave after Eliphaz,
one of Job's three friends, spoke while visiting Job:

Then Job answered and said, I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all. Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest? I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you. But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage your grief.-Job 16:1-5***Job was wealthy, married, and the father of 10 children. When Job's friends Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar learned that Job's children were dead, and Job's servants and sheep had been killed, and Jon's camels, donkeys and oxen had been stolen, and Job's body was terribly afflicted, they gathered for a journey to be with Job. For 7 days, Job and his friends sat in silence. Afterwards, Job spoke, and Eliphaz spoke, sometimes accusingly, while acknowledging Job's generosity and suggesting Job seek help from the Lord God. Job responded, and Job's friend Bildad spoke, also accusingly. In response, Job spoke of the Lord God and stated the questions he would like to ask the Lord God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Zophar spoke and suggested Job repent. Job replied with more words about the Lord God and a few questions for Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar. Eliphaz spoke accusatorily, and Job spoke again. Centuries after Job, Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar, and Elihu heard each other speak of the Lord God, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Judea, into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was the only child born to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah. Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad. Arphaxad was born to Shem. Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch. Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth. Seth was born to Adam and Eve. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God created Adam, the 1st man. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after take a part out of Adam.-Genesis 1:1-3:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Job, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
