...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Aw, Paw
And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.-Genesis 21:9-14***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and his wife Sarah (Sarai) were childless when they were living in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, and the Lord God told Abraham to depart from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. After Abraham and Sarah journeyed to Haran, in northern Mesopotamia, with their father Terah and nephew Lot, Abraham and Sarah were childless. After 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, and Abraham, Sarah and Lot journeyed with their servants and possessions to Canaan, and the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham and Abraham's descendants, Abraham and Sarah were childless. Abraham eventually thought that his top servant Eliezer would inherit all the servants, silver, gold, sheep, camels, oxen, and donkeys. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant, with Sarah's consent. When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. Abraham and the males on his property were immediately circumcised, and Abraham circumcised 13-year-old Ishmael. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was weaned and Abraham held a feast, Sarah was offended by Ishmael's actions. Isaac was 40 years old when he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. When Isaac was old and his eyesight was diminished, Jacob obeyed Rebekah, and deceived Isaac, and cheated Esau. Rebekah's words to Isaac led Isaac to send Jacob from their home in Canaan to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran. During Jacob's 7th year in Haran, he was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob and Leah. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, into the tribe of Judah, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
