Gad the prophet, King David and Araunah
And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite. And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded. And Aranuah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground. And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people. And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood. All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee. And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which dost cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.-2 Samuel 24:18-25***King David was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. After David was prodded to have a count taken of all the capable Israelite men living throughout the kingdom, he was overcome with guilt and prayed to the Lord God. The Lord God sent Gad the prophet to deliver 3 choices to David, and David chose to fall into the hands of the Lord God. A plague that the Lord God sent caused the deaths of 70,000 Israelite men. Afterwards, the Lord God stayed the hand of the angel. David saw the angel while the angel was standing between heaven and earth holding a sword, and David prayed to the Lord God. The angel told Gad to tell David to build, on the threshing floor of Araunah (Ornan) the Jebusite, an altar to the Lord God. Araunah was with his 4 sons and possibly saw a divine sight. Araunah wanted to give David the property and other items. David refused to receive the property for free and paid a weight of shekels for the purchase. Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. During the 4th year of Solomon's 40-year reign, workers began building the temple of the Lord on the land in Jerusalem that David purchased from Araunah, and the workers finished building the temple in the 11th year of Solomon's reign. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of David and his descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-14:31, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-12:16, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
