Let Me Go for Awhile or So

And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him. And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee? And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.-1 Kings 19:15-21***Elijah, Elisha, Jehu, and Ahab were Israelites, descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Elijah and Elisha were prophets of the Lord God. Jehu was an army commander. Ahab was the 7th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit before Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind,  and both prophets experienced similar circumstances while serving and obeying the Lord God. Elijah obeyed the commands of the Lord God, spoke the words of the Lord God to King Ahab, prayed that there not be rain and lived through the subsequent famine, was helped by a widow, helped the widow have provisions, was instrumental in the revival of the widow's dead son, sent another prophet on a mission, had a servant, interacted with an army, and witnessed the fire of the Lord God. Elisha obeyed the commands of the Lord God, spoke the words of the Lord God to a king, lived through a famine, helped a widow, was helped by a widow and was instrumental in the revival of the widow's dead son, had a servant, sent the son of a prophet on a mission, interacted with an army and witnessed the fire of the Lord God. Over 800 years after Elisha died and his body was buried, and the body of a dead man revived after being tossed onto Elisha's bones, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.-Luke 9:57-62***Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee,  Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus chose 12 of his disciples to be apostles, and many Israelites from Galilee, Judea and the surrounding regions followed Jesus. After Jesus spoke of his flesh and blood, many disciples stopped following Jesus. Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, left the Last Supper to betray Jesus, and the 11 remaining disciples and apostles ran off when Jesus was arrested.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
