King Josiah
After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him. But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not. Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo. And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded. His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.-2 Chronicles 35:20-24***King Josiah was the 15th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land. Josiah led his fellow Israelites back to the Lord God after the Israelites spent years worshiping idols. Josiah removed all idolatrous items from the temple of the Lord. The temple was in Jerusalem and was built by Josiah's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather King Solomon, the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. During the latter portion of Solomon's 40-year reign, Solomon worshiped idols. Josiah kicked the occultists and false priests from the land and destroyed the shrines, altars, poles, and chariots that were dedicated to idols and used for false worship. Moreover, Josiah put the ark of the covenant of the Lord back in the temple, and gave commands for the temple's repair, and renewed the Israelites' covenant to follow and obey the Lord God. Josiah commemorated the Passover in a manner that had not been kept since Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi led the Israelites, before the rulership of kings began. Jehoahaz, the son born to Josiah and Hamutal, was the 16th king to rule Judah. Pharaoh Necho (Nechoh), ruler of Egypt, took Jehoahaz captive and placed Jehoiakim (Eliakim), the son born to Josiah and Zebudah, as king. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Josiah and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. Josiah and Hamutal's son Zedekiah (Mattaniah), was the 19th king to rule Judah. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of Solomon and his descendants, all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. After Joseph received a warning from an angel of the Lord, Joseph, Mary and Jesus stayed in Egypt for awhile. After Joseph received another message from an angel of the Lord, Joseph, Mary and Jesus left Egypt and returned to live among the Israelites, and after Joseph received another divine warning, Joseph, Mary and Jesus lived in Nazareth, the hometown of Joseph and Mary in Galilee.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
