...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Bait and Persuade to Act Our Way

Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.-Matthew 27:15-20***Less than 3 1/2 years before Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, betrayed Jesus, and signaled those seeking to arrest Jesus by greeting Jesus with a kiss, John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the Jordan River. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Approximately 30 years before Jesus was baptized, Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of  Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. After Jesus was betrayed and arrested, Jesus was put before Annas, and Caiaphas the high priest, and the Sanhedrin, the high court of the Israelites (Hebrews/Jews), and Pontius Pilate, the governor ruling Judea for the Roman Empire, and Herod Antipas, the tetrarch ruling Galilee for the Romans, and Jesus was put once more before Pilate, who was due to release a prisoner during the time of the Passover Feast.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-5:15, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Now the next day, that followed the day of preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.-Matthew 27:62-66***King Saul was the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land. Saul couldn't bear to hear the Israelite women singing of David in a song. Over 1,000 years after David became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites, the chief priests in Jerusalem couldn't bear to hear children crying shouts of praise to Jesus the Christ. Moreover, the chief priests did not like it when Jesus disrupted business transactions in the temple, included remarks about them in his parables, healed the sick and performed other miracles, and taught without going through the processes required to have their authority bestowed upon him. After Jesus was betrayed, arrested, and  crucified, and his body was buried in a tomb, the chief priests and Israelite elders wanted to make sure that they were finished with Jesus, who had identified himself as the Son of God. They wanted to be done with Jesus, his influence, the stories surrounding his life, and any possible reports of a resurrection. Thus, they went to see Pontius Pilate, the ruler governing Judea for the Roman Empire. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that after Jesus was resurrected, Jesus was seen by over 500 people, and was returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:29-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-2:12, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
