King Solomon

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him. And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king. And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel. Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel. And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead. Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer, With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.-1 Chronicles 29:23-30***David was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, descended from Adam and Eve, their son Seth, Seth's great-great-great-grandson Enoch, Enoch's great-grandson Noah the ark builder, Noah's son Shem, Shem's son Arphaxad, Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah, Terah's children Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), their son Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Adam died at the age of 930 and Seth died at the age of 912. The number of years that Eve, Rebekah and Leah lived are not revealed in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible. Enoch did not die; the Lord God took 365-year-old Enoch. Noah died at the age of 950, Shem died at 600, Arphaxad died at 438, Abraham died at 175, Sarah died at 127, and Isaac died at 180. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph, the 1st son born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, was second-in-command. Years earlier, Joseph arrived in Egypt with the merchants who bought him from his hateful brothers. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official, and Joseph became the top servant in Potiphar's home. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in prison. The prison official placed Joseph in authority over the prisoners. Two years after Joseph explained the meaning of each dream to the imprisoned baker and imprisoned butler of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, Joseph explained the meaning of 2 dreams to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh promoted Joseph. After 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, Jacob's children buried his body in Canaan, in the same cave wherein the bodies of Sarah, Abraham, Rebekah, Isaac, and Leah were buried. Sometime after 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign over the Israelites. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, to anoint David to reign as king. After Saul's self-inflicted death on the battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and he began to reign only ruled over the tribe of Judah. Hebron served as the royal city. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David and he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelite tribes. When David was 70 years old, he died and his body was buried in the City of David, approximately 19 miles from Hebron. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Judea, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.
