...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

The Bottom Line

From a letter written by Simon Peter
 to believers everywhere:

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy: whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost
.-2 Peter 1:13-21***Simon Peter and his fellow Israelites, fishermen and business partners James and John were disciples and apostles of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Simon Peter, James and John were the disciples and apostles most constantly with Jesus. Simon Peter, James and John were on a mountain with Jesus when Jesus was transfigured. On the mountain, Simon Peter, James and John saw Moses and Elijah, prophets from centuries earlier, speaking with Jesus. Simon Peter offered to build tabernacles, and Simon Peter, James and John heard the voice of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Simon Peter, James, John and other Israelite men, including Simon Peter's brother Andrew, began following Jesus, Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle betrayed Jesus, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Sometime thereafter, Simon Peter wrote a divinely inspired letter to believers that revealed another tabernacle, the dwelling tent of his body. Similarly, the apostle Paul (Saul) wrote a letter, with Timothy (Timotheus), to believers in Corinth and its regions that mentioned the tabernacle of each person.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings 1:1-2:25, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, 9:35-44, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, 2 Corinthians 1:1-24, 5:1-21, 2 Peter

Reference Scriptures:
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.-Matthew 3:16-17

While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.-Matthew 17:5
