Here, Ma

The Death of John the Baptist

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee; And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom. And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist. And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist. And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her. And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison, And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother

-Mark 6:21-28***Over 1,900 years after Levi and Judah were born to Jacob (Israel) and Leah, John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born into the tribe of Judah. John the Baptist was born to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and Elizabeth (Elisabeth), an elderly, formerly childless couple. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative  Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit while in Elizabeth's womb, and he leapt in Elizabeth's womb when Elizabeth heard Mary's voice. Moreover, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that John the Baptist was born to bring the Israelites back to the Lord, prepare people for Jesus the Christ, and preach repentance, salvation and the forgiveness of sins. John the Baptist baptized repenters in the Jordan River, and at a place beyond the Jordan River, and in Aenon near Salim. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, John the Baptist was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus was born, Jesus was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), the Israelite ancestor, when Abraham was 99 years old. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow
him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Meanwhile, John the Baptist was imprisoned after he addressed Herod Antipas the tetrarch regarding the relationship between Herod and Herodias and other activities.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus 18:1-30, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
