...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

The Lord God Himself

A message the Lord God
revealed to Jeremiah the prophet:

Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown. Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD. Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt? And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination. The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead

-Jeremiah 2:1-9
***Job lived in Uz and worshiped the Lord God. When Job was suffering a series of calamities, and in the presence of his friends Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar, Job spoke for the shadow of death, the deep, deathly shadow, to claim the day of his birth. Job said the shadow of death was on his eyelids. Job expressed thoughts regarding the Lord God and Job spoke of the comfort he wanted to receive before going to the shadow of death, the lightless place wherein was no order. Job described the manner whereby the wicked perceive morning and the shadow of death. Moreover, Job said that the Lord God brings the shadow of death to light and that the shadow of death is searched. Elihu was younger than Job and Job's 3 friends, and eventually Elihu spoke to Job and the friends and stated that the shadow of death does not hide the wicked. After Job, his friends, and Elihu spoke, the Lord God asked Job a question about the doors of death and the gates of the shadow of death. David
was a shepherd, musician, psalmist, warrior, husband, father, and king from the tribe of Judah. David worshiped the Lord God, and the Lord God identified David as a man after God's own heart. David was descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. In Psalm 23, David wrote of the shadow of death. Moreover, the shadow of death is mentioned in Psalm 44 and Psalm 107Isaiah, Jeremiah and Amos were prophets of the Lord God and each of them made mention of the shadow of death. Over 500 years after Isaiah, Jeremiah and Amos received and proclaimed their messages from the Lord God, John the Baptist  and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Months thereafter, Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of David's birth, to Mary, a virgin, and her husband Joseph after being conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb when Mary was a virgin. Zechariah and Elizabeth were filled with the Holy Spirit, and Zechariah spoke prophetically of John the Baptist, the Israelites, Jesus, light, and the shadow of death.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Job, Psalm 23, Psalm 44, Psalm 107, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Amos 1:1-15, 5:1-27, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
