...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Grateful Living

1 Chronicles Chapter 16 consists of 43 verses,
verses 23-29 are given below:

Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation. Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations. For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place. Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.-1 Chronicles 16:23-29***King David and Asaph were Israelites, prophets, psalmists, and musicians descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Jacob (Israel) and Leah. David was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Asaph was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. After David began reigning over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, and brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to the City of David, and the ark was set inside a specially designated tent, David delivered a divinely inspired psalm to Asaph and his fellow musicians. Solomon was the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba. Over 900 years after Solomon became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, 29:1-36, 35:1-27, Psalm 50, Psalm 73, Psalm 74, Psalm 75, Psalm 76, Psalm 77, Psalm 78, Psalm 79, Psalm 80, Psalm 81, Psalm 82, Psalm 83, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-2:47

(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)-1 Samuel 9:9

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.-1 Samuel 16:23

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.-2 Samuel 23:1-2

So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;-1 Chronicles 15:19

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;-Acts 2:29-30
